The Joie Roomie Glide crib is a bedside crib which allows parents to stay with their baby while ensuring they are resting safely. Its smooth gliding motion will help ease your baby's sleep, and its innovative features allow you to monitor your child without having to leave bed.
The sliding side panel of the cot can be raised and lowered with just a push of a single button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a baby at night. It has 11 height adjustments that can be adjusted to fit nearly any mattress size, and adjustable folding feet so that it's at the right level.
The cot is cushioned, features mesh sides for better ventilation, and its mattress is made of high-density, foam to provide extra protection. It can also be cleaned, so you can keep the cot clean. It is fitted with a bed sheet that is suitable for a crib.
The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for beds, is compatible with all beds including divans. This is because of the straps and clips that connect it. It can also be used as a standalone crib when it's not connected to your bed and it's packed with amazing features that are designed with parent-baby bonding in mind.
One thing to keep in mind is that even though this crib is ideal for newborns, it won't last long after your little one turns six months old, so you'll have to purchase a bigger cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was a great buy. She was impressed by its sleek design.
The Roomie Glide is available to purchase from John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna considered to be an affordable price for a cot with such advanced features. She also liked the way it looked in the bedroom, and believed that the grey shade will work well in modern homes. She did point out that it's not a good idea to rock a baby in the early years because it could create an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to give you the best sleep possible. It features a drop-side rail that can be easily lifted to feed your child at night without disturbing them or getting out of the bed. This is ideal for breastfeeding mothers! It's also lightweight, making it easy to move around the house during nap time and also for travel.
It's made from soft materials and has breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It's available in oak and charcoal and has a variety of melange fabrics that are compatible with all decor styles. Anna found it to be sturdy and secure when affixed to her bed, with the legs securely snapping into the frame and the zips securely secured for baby-safety. It took her around 10 minutes to assemble and did not require tools, and comes with clear instructions and a video or customer support number if you encounter any problems.
As well as the usual features you'd expect from a bedside crib such as the ability to attach to your existing bed using a stay-in place connection system and six height levels The CoZee also comes with an additional incline option which can be used to help aid congestion or reflux in babies. It's also machine-washable, a must with all the dribble, vomit and snot that come with having a baby!
The CoZee is a great option for keeping your child in the first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a crib, changing station or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa-bed extension kit, it can transform into an bed. And while it won't feed your baby or magically sleep them it will rock them until they go off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive alternatives. However, it has a lot of amazing features. It's designed as a side sleeper or a standalone crib and is suitable for babies up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel with the new mechanism. It's also more flexible than its predecessor, having 11 different height levels as well as feet that retract to fit under any bed.
Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel, that can be moved up and down with a single push of a button. This was a huge benefit during night time feeds as it meant that they could easily reach inside and take their baby away without waking them.
It is possible to lower the side panel by itself but this is not recommended as it increases the risk that your child could be thrown out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism ensures that it can only stay down when attached to the bed of the parent correctly. This feature can be very beneficial for peace of mind if you are breastfeeding and need frequent feedings at night.
Telescopic legs permit the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed including divan bases and beds with drawers. It also has an option to tilt for babies with reflux and a rocking mode to help them sleep after eating. It's also extremely spacious and provides excellent ventilation due to its mesh sides.
Our testers found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, though it does have quite lengthy instructions. It's a bit heavier than some of the other side-sleepers but it's still fairly portable and can be moved from room to room easily. It's also foldable into a bag for travel which is ideal when you need to transport it. The only downside our test subjects found was that the side panel didn't move as much as some of the other models, making it a little harder to see your baby from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're in search of a bedside crib that will grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth looking into. It's a crib for co-sleeping that can be attached securely to your bed and can be converted into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. Ideal for feeding at night and enhancing the bond you have with your new born.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, not like other cribs. Its dual-view mesh sides and airflow mattress that is breathable and hypoallergenic maximise airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle slope helps reduce colic and reflux. The zipper-down side lets you to feed your baby or comfort them at night.
The kit for conversion to cot is also well designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you need. travel cot bedside took us an hour to complete and was fairly straightforward. The only issue with the instructions was that a few pictures did not have captions. This made it difficult to follow the instructions. However, overall it was a straightforward procedure and the quality of the materials employed was of a high standard.
In co-sleeping mode we found the Shnuggle Air to be an ideal choice for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section since it allows them to comfortably reach out to their baby for feeding and comfort without having to climb out of their bed. It's also great for those who wish to avoid the hassle of getting into and out of a traditional cot or placing their child down for a nap.
During our tests we noticed the smooth motion of this next-to-me crib to be particularly beneficial in helping babies fall asleep after midday and nighttime feeds. The drop-down sides make it easy to feed or soothe babies throughout the night. This was a major selling point for our tired test mums. Although it doesn't rock or have additional features, like a sound machine the Joie Roomie Glide's sleek design and functionality are a welcome addition our top crib reviews for bed.
